Kim's Cycling History

I am a born again cyclist, I was living next to the Nicky line http://enquire.hertscc.gov.uk/cms/explore/walk/nickyline.htm and often watched the bikers, so when Bryan asked if a wanted to cycle the British Heart foundation London to Brighton, some 12 years ago, I said yes but the only problem is I haven't got a bike.
I purchased a second hand mountain bike for £120 and the first time I trained for the L2B I did 8 miles and thought that was some going! After a Spring spent building up the miles, the L2B which was more like 60 miles then, was duly completed.I was devastated when we finished because there was nothing left to aim for. I think I said at the time we must now cycle from Lands End to John O Groats ( LE JOG ) - so 12 years later here we are.
That mountain bike served me very well, and we have gone on the cycle all over Britain including the Sustrans http://www.sustrans.org.uk/ C2C, Reivers, Devon C2C, Coasts & Castles, Lochs & Glens, and others. I even managed to cycle 100 miles in a day and that was with the strength sapping nobbly tyres. Today is the 18th of November and its cold and raining, so I think I'll start the training next week (or is that after Christmas)
